Click +Create line items from project & milestone timers and all your timer data will be inserted as line items.

You can then edit these items as you see fit. If you use the timer a lot, this should make you much more efficient!

Being able to track time on milestones has been the most requested feature. Just like projects, you can now track time on milestones and tasks!

You can also edit the timer manually by launching the milestone editing window.

On the right side of the Timer fields, your total earnings will be displayed. This is a multiplication of your hourly rate by the total time spent on this milestone.

The project editing window went through some changes as well.

1. Project Timer: This remains unchanged. The project’s timer is independent of its milestone timers. If you’ve been using the project timer all these while, you can continue doing so without changing any habits.
2. Total Timed Amount: This amount is calculated by adding the project’s timer values to the total time tracked on all milestones.
3. Grand Total: This figure is based on the calculation of Amount (the amount displayed on the left of the modal window) + Total Timed Amount
4. Total time tracked on all milestones: This is the total time you’ve tracked on all milestones associated to this project

2. Adding Multiple Clients

Previously, if you add multiple clients of different contacts but with the same company’s name, there is no way to tell which is which when selecting a client from a drop down menu. We solved this problem by adding the person’s initials beside the company’s name.

3. Increased Legibility of White on Black Texts

We’ve adjusted all fonts for better readability when they are white on black, especially on form fields.

Last invoice / quote numbers

If you use incrementing invoice or quote numbers, this will be a great time saver while also keeping your sanity. Whenever you create a new invoice, the Invoice no. field will be pre-populated with the last invoice or quote number, so that you know what the next number should be.

Rollover notes icon for description

To see description for a particular project, milestone, client or link, just rollover the notes icon. This is good when working through a list of tasks, quickly looking at their description further enhances its context.

Recurring Invoices Improvements

When saving a recurring invoice, a new modal window will pop up (as shown above) to show you the next send date. The next send date is calculated based on your issue date, if this date is wrong, just change your issue date to correct it.

Received a payment for your recurring invoices? Checking the Paid checkbox will pull up the above window (as usual). What’s changed is that after you send the thank you note, or clicking Don’t Send brings up another modal window as shown below:

This new modal window lets you change your invoice number and email message conveniently for the next invoice that’ll be sent out on the date displayed. Click Save and forget!

Gravatar

This one is purely cosmetic. If you have a Gravatar tied to the email you use to sign in to SUBERNOVA, your Gravatar image will be displayed on the top left just beside your company name. This will certainly make you feel more at home!

Dock Badge Counts

SUBERNOVA displays a dock badge count of all projects that are due today and tomorrow, as well as milestones that are due today and tomorrow, depending on which section you are currently viewing.

Growl Notifications

Receive growl notifications the moment an event is triggered. For example, your client views your invoice, reads your email, your quote is approved, members of your team add a new project, completes a milestone, starts a timer etc.

How To Create A SUBERNOVA Fluid App

Just enter SUBERNOVA’s login URL, name and leave the default Use Website Favicon for Icon. The app will pull the high resolution icon image from our server.

Then click Create.

The coffee cup image will be replaced with your own logo if you’ve uploaded one via Settings > Logo.

It is now quick and easy to glance through what needs your attention today and tomorrow, as well as review yesterday’s activities.

This update includes two of the most requested features pertaining to invoicing!

1. Ability to set payment due date (payment terms)
2. Recurring invoices

These are also two of the most important features.

Data Security with SSL

We’ve added SSL security to SUBERNOVA. The chances of a third party eavesdropping on your data when they’re being transferred to and from our server is reduced to zero.

SSL is optional, if you favor security over speed, just insert the letter “s” infront of “http” the next time you use the web app, eg. https://app.subernova.com.

You can also turn on SSL for the AIR and iPhone app by going into Settings > Others and checking the appropriate checkboxes.

Improved Scrolling

If you have lots of data in your account, you may have some difficulty scrolling up and down previously. Not anymore, we’ve improved scrolling such that the content will only scroll when your mouse hits the top or bottom of the content.

Create New Client In Project Creation Window

Previously, you needed to go to “Clients” section to create a client first before you can create a project.

Now, you can create a new client in the project creation modal window itself without breaking your workflow.

iPhone App In jQTouch Framework!

We completely rewrote the front end code of the iPhone app in jQTouch! The app now loads and feels snappier thanks to JQuery and AJAX.

You’ll also see beautiful native like animations when you go from page to page.

Do you know you can run SUBERNOVA on any site? This is useful when you’re doing research and you want to save the page’s link, but don’t want to leave the current page you’re on. Just hit the bookmarklet and SUBERNOVA will load in that page, you’re now ready to add a new link to your account.

Recently, we submitted SUBERNOVA to Web.Appstorm’s Quicklook.

Thanks to their readers and many of you who participated in the vote, SUBERNOVA was reviewed on Web.Appstorm and scored a whopping 9 upon 10!

We rewrote the entire front end code in jQTouch’s excellent framework. The entire app is AJAX driven, complete with some native like animations.

You’ll notice a marked improvement in speed, which in turn improves the overall user experience.

Now you can have the options to enable or disable SSL.

Why?

Why the option? Because when you enable SSL, your interaction between SUBERNOVA and your internet connection is secure, but the down side is that the whole experience could be a little slower. What if you want a faster connection because you’re at home and not using a public computer? You can disable SSL. If you’re at work, or using a public connection, enable SSL for better security.

Where and How?

When you go to Settings > Others, you will see SSL Encryption settings checkboxes for the iPhone and the AIR app. Why no checkbox for the web app? Because you can easily turn SSL on when using the web app by inserting an “s” at the end of “http”, for example – “https://app.subernova.com”.

For the iPhone and the AIR app, checking the checkboxes and means that when you use the iPhone or the AIR app, SUBERNOVA will make all connections using SSL, ensuring security between data transfers.

The choice is yours. :)
